Gosnells
First and foremost - we loved with their product: premium honey-based sparkling drinks that offer a healthier alternative to mainstream cider.
Gosnells has developed a range of premium honey-based sparkling drinks that are lower in sugar, naturally gluten-free and made with simple, natural ingredients.
As importantly, I saw the perseverance, resilience and passion of founder Tom Gosnell. Building a consumer brand is rarely a straight line, and Tom has demonstrated the determination and long-term mindset needed to navigate the inevitable challenges that every entrepreneur faces. Combined with an outstanding product, a strong sustainability ethos and an ambitious founder, I believe Gosnells has the potential to redefine a category that has lacked meaningful innovation for decades.
Gosnells is exactly the type of business Entrepreneur Partners exists to support, and I was delighted to make a multi-hundred-thousand-pound investment to help accelerate the company's next phase of growth.
Foundry Fit
Foundry Fit has created a compelling approach to personal training by making expert coaching more accessible. Its small-group training model delivers the accountability and results of one-to-one personal training in a format that is both more affordable and more enjoyable.
In a market where many people struggle to stay motivated in traditional gyms, Foundry Fit has built an environment that helps members achieve lasting results while creating a genuine sense of community.
What gave me the confidence to back the business was founder - JC. Building a successful fitness brand requires relentless commitment, exceptional leadership and an unwavering focus on the customer experience. JC embodies those qualities and has created a business with a strong culture and a loyal, highly engaged membership.
Health and wellbeing remains one of the most attractive long-term consumer markets, and I believe Foundry Fit is exceptionally well positioned to capitalise on that opportunity.
I was delighted to make a multi-hundred-thousand-pound investment to help accelerate the company's growth and provide practical support with customer acquisition, digital marketing and conversion optimisation.
Gosh PR
Gosh PR stood out because of both the strength of the business and the quality of its founder. Dru's relationships across the UK travel industry are second to none, and over many years she has built an outstanding reputation with clients, journalists and the wider travel media.
She has consistently demonstrated that great public relations should be measured by meaningful commercial outcomes rather than simply column inches.
As with every investment, the entrepreneur is just as important as the business itself. Dru's integrity, passion and long-term commitment to her clients gave me complete confidence that Gosh PR had the foundations to continue growing while maintaining the culture and reputation that had made it so successful.
More recently, I had the privilege of helping Dru and the wider team transition Gosh PR to employee ownership through the sale of a 70% stake to an Employee Ownership Trust.
Employee ownership felt like the natural succession plan for a business built on people, relationships and trust, allowing the company to preserve its culture while giving employees the opportunity to share in its future success.
Ikon Shot
Ikon Shot is at a very early stage but I believed in both the idea and the entrepreneur behind it.
As a pre-revenue business, this wasn't an investment based on financial performance or historic results but rather on conviction that the product solves a genuine problem and has the potential to create real value for its customers.
I've known the founder since university, which has given me the opportunity to see first-hand the qualities that matter most when building a business. Integrity, resilience and determination are difficult to measure on a balance sheet, but they are often the characteristics that determine whether a start-up succeeds.
Early-stage investing is inherently higher risk, but it also offers the opportunity to help shape a business from the very beginning. I was delighted to support Ikon Shot in its journey and look forward to working alongside the founder as the business develops from an exciting idea into a successful company.
Kung Fu Mama
Kung Fu Mama is redefining what a great city lunch should look like. The founders recognised a gap in the market for busy professionals who want food that is healthy, hot, delicious and affordable without compromising on quality or convenience.
Their vision is simple: serve exceptional Asian-inspired food at a price and speed that works for people working in Central London.
The business appealed to me because it combines a compelling customer proposition with founders who have the experience to deliver it. They are seasoned operators with a deep understanding of the sector, and I believe execution is often the greatest differentiator between a good idea and a great business.
Consumer expectations continue to evolve as people seek healthier, better-quality food that fits into increasingly busy lifestyles. Businesses that consistently deliver outstanding food, excellent value and an efficient customer experience are well positioned for long-term success.
I was delighted to back the Kung Fu Mama team and support their ambition to build one of London's most exciting emerging food brands. Plus, theit noodles and bao buns are delicious!!
